A tale of two counties

By now most people are aware of the two child deaths ruled homicides in Boulder and Denver counties this past week 5/14. On the surface it's defiantly the old story of have and have not's and how different counties view the same crime.
In Boulder it's
Alex
and
Molly Midyette
, charged with child abuse in the death of their 10 week old son
Jason
. They are the son and daughter in law of
J. Nold Midyette
,a notable Boulder Architect and landlord who owns millions of dollars worth of property on East Pearl St. in Boulder.
In Denver it's
Jon Phillips
and
Sarah Berry
, charged with first degree murder of a child under 12, first degree murder after deliberation and child abuse resulting in death for the death of7- year-old
Chandler Grafner
. Phillips is not even Chandler's biological father; Berry, the biological mother and everyone else connected to little Chandler would make for one hell of a Jerry Springer Show.
The Midyetts, Alex and Molly were released from jail after less than three hours on $750,000 and $500,000 bonds respectively.
Jon Phillips and Sarah Berry remain in custody in the Denver County Jail and are being held without bond.
Both cases are equally heinous and revolting. In Boulder County it's Child Abuse. In Denver County it's Murder.
One has to wonder if sometimes money and lack of morality and responsibilty has it's limits.
We all know how this will turn out. The Midyettes will slide. Big fine little time and lots of community service. Jon Phillips and Sarah Berry will most likely be Senior Citizens when they get out of prison and rightly so.
And what will get lost in this by the time it's all over is two innocents never had a chance because of a nightmare of an existence from thoughtless and uncaring people from both sides of the tracks.
