At approximately 3:16 a.m. Feb. 23, Aurora Police officers responded to the Real de Minas Grill at 11101 E. Colfax Ave. on report of a shooting. Officers found three adult males suffering from gun shot wounds, and one adult male injured by blunt force.
All four victims were transported to local hospitals. Early indications are that the injuries are non-life threatening.
Initial reports indicate that just prior to the shooting, a fight broke out in the parking lot outside the business. One group of men involved in the altercation got into a car to leave. Witnesses reported shots being fired from inside that vehicle at people still in the parking lot.
A patrol officer responding to the call saw a car matching the description of the suspect vehicle and stopped it in the area of East 12
th Avenue and Alton Street. Five adult males were detained.
On Feb. 23, Aurora detectives arrested two of the men detained. One of the adult males in custody was charged with attempt first degree homicide and the other with accessory to first degree homicide. The other three men were released.
We are not releasing the identities of victims or possible suspects at this time.
