Create a Victorian valentine Feb. 10 at museum

Recreate the Victorian handmade card tradition from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Feb. 10 at the Aurora History Museum with "Heritage Crafts: Victorian Valentines."

View some Victorian valentines, and find out more about how Valentine's Day traditions since the early 1800s have included the exchange of handmade, elaborately decorated Valentine cards. Then, create Valentine's Day cards using a variety of materials, including ribbon, flowers, lace, illustrations, colored paper and more.

The cost is $7 ($5 Aurora residents). Register in advance by calling 303-326-8650 or visiting auroragov.org/recreation.

The Aurora History Museum is a service of the City of Aurora's Cultural Services Division. The museum at 15051 E. Alameda Parkway is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
