Over the weekend more than 150 volunteers helped clean the air naturally by planting 100 trees at Aurora's Expo Park. The Aurora Parks & Open Space Department organized the Arbor Day/Earth Day event with assistance from community partners and sponsors, including Subaru of North America and the Mile High Million Tree Initiative who both made donations towards the project. Other partners include Democrats Work, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Mile High Disc Golf, and Home Depot.
"This was one of the most successful tree planting projects I've taken part in" said John Wesolowski, Forestry Division Manager for the City of Aurora. "Our citizens understand and appreciate the value of our urban forest in Aurora."
