Thursday, September 21, 2006, 5:30-8:30PM at the distinguished Radisson Graystone Castle (I-25 and 120th Ave) Alternatives to Family Violence, a 28-year-old domestic violence agency in Denver, Adams County, gathers TV personalities, performing artists, community leaders, great food and amazing auction items to raise money and celebrate survivors of domestic violence.
The evening's entertainment includes a riveting performance by Jambalaya, an all-female African drumming and performance art group along with the musical renditions of the one and only Neil Haverstick. The delightful award-winning news anchorman Gary Shapiro of Channel 9 News will emcee the evening. The program includes the unforgettable ATFV Community Awards Ceremony where ATFV, event participants and sponsors pay tribute to community members who are leading the way in the movement to end violence against women and children.
ATFV will also host its annual silent auction offering their signature, widely praised, "Mystery Boxes," which cost $25 but can be valued at well over $100, along with the 50/50 Reverse Cash Raffle, Handmade Quilt Raffle and the ultimate, Treasure Box Selection. ATFV will offer participants the opportunity to own one of their inaugural collections of hand-painted butterflies autographed by national and local celebrities including Grammy award-winning recording artist Patti Labelle and various elected officials from Adams County Cities who have pledged their support in the battle against domestic violence.
Admission to the gala is $30 and includes gourmet appetizers and a complimentary glass of wine. There will be a cash bar on site.
There are a few seats left. Call 303-428-9611 or email julieb@atfv-adamsco.org to reserve your place at the table of those who are doing something to end one of the most deadly crimes in America! If you can't attend, please do send a tax deductible donation--your gift could help save a life...
