Karen Long is a candidate for Adams County Clerk & Recorder
My name:
Karen A. Long, candidate for Adams County Clerk & Recorder
Age:
58
My family:
Mother, 2 sisters, brother-in-law, nephew
What I do:
I am currently serving as the Chief Deputy, Adams County Clerk & Recorder. Nearly 8 years.
My favorite place in town to hang out:
Any place outdoors!
What I like most about living here:
I am a native Coloradoan, what's NOT to like?
My interests and hobbies:
Travel and sporting events
What is my favorite thing to cook:
Mexican Food
People who inspired me (and how):
My mother and my first employer. Both were great role models by teaching me responsibility, respect and good work ethic.
How I have contributed to the community:
Through the years, I have served on various committees in the community, including recreation committees. I also serve on committees associated with the County Clerk's of Colorado addressing election, motor vehicle and real estate issues. I am a Colorado-certified election official, as well as being certified nationally.
What are the biggest issues facing the community now:
I feel some of the biggest issues facing our "County Clerk's community" include the continued growth in Adams County and the State of Colorado and being prepared to face the challenges associated with that growth. Having worked as the Chief Deputy Adams County Clerk & Recorder for the last 7+ years has provided great insight into the committment necessary to continue to serve the citizens of Adams County in an efficient, courteous manner into future years.
