Well, Aug. 17 was a heck of a day for a press conference at the Boulder County Justice Center.
The sun was shining, but it wasn't too hot, and nearby Boulder Creek looked to be in fine late-summer fishing form.
There were dozens of television cameras, six satellite uplink dishes, too many journalist to count and lots of people hanging around, perhaps thinking this was to be an historic day in Boulder's decade-old
JonBenet Ramsey case.
Quotes on the other hand were few and far between as Boulder District Attorney
Mary Lacy thanked the many people instrumental in the arrest of
John Mark Karr, 41, in Bangkok, Thailand. That is unless you wanted to write down, "I can't comment on that" at least a dozen times.
But as the press began to filter out, a fire alarm sounded inside the justice center, sending many other law-enforcement and justice workers out to the creek.
Like I said, it was a very nice day. Should have been fishing.
