Gas prices? What's that?

Earlier this evening, my friend Cathy was giving me a ride home. (Yes, I did manage to entice her out to the Southern Sun)

Driving past one of the Conocos at Table Mesa and Broadway, she said, "Can you believe gas prices have shot up to $2.30 a gallon?"

Me: "Huh? Gas prices? What's that?"
