Blog Entry 13 of 13 Driving Denver's REALestate Market
I'm the President of Colorado HomeFinder, and an experienced RE/MAX REALTOR. I am a certified e-PRO, a member of the RE/MAX Hall of Fame, and a member of the RE/MAX Chairman's Club. Thousands of home buyers and sellers use our site every day, checking out our Google maps of over 45,000 properties for sale along the Front Range. Because of this large number of visitors, our website basically acts like a thermometer, constantly taking the temperature of the Colorado real estate market. I decided it might be fun to share some of the market insight, trends, and data generated by www.COhomefinder.com with the YourHub community. Real estate is a fascinating subject and seems to be on everyone's minds these days. No doubt, there is quite a bit of contradictory information, speculation, and downright misinformation out there about the real estate markets, so I may as well join the fray!

How to love your library and why it's important

If you don't think public libraries matter, it's because you haven't visited one in a while.
The Boulder Public Library in particular has been buzzing with activity. Whether it's because of the economic situation causing job searching frenzies, or the late spring weather causing a rash of cabin fever, the main branch of the library on Arapahoe (here's a map of Arapahoe in Boulder) has been a hub for information-seekers, or people just looking for a pleasant, quiet place to read or work.

Lately, the imminent closure of the Meadows branch in the Boulder system has started up a debate over how library dollars are allocated, and whether a closure basically constitutes snubbing a community. However you feel about your local library, getting involved in the online and in-person aspects of your public system is the best way to become acquainted with what's happening.

The Meadows Branch will be closed to save $$$, and the a portion of the savings will go to fix the leaky skylights at the main library. Is this what Boulderites value? My 96 year old mother is a reader, but she can't figure out when the library is open. I've actually gone online, looked at the schedule and then have taken her to see the closed library because the city doesn't know how to fill in an online calendar, or they're showing the wrong schedule on purpose. Boulder is just too weird ...
