I have the Pleasure of being the Managing Broker of RE/MAX Alliance in Boulder, CO. RE/MAX Alliance is the #1 RE/MAX in the U.S. according to RE/MAX International and Real Trends 2008. Our Website www.homesincolorado.com is your best source for local information on housing from Castle Rock, CO to Denver, CO; to Boulder, CO; and all the way up to Fort Collins, CO. Colorado new listings are updated Daily and you can even research sold listings to help determine the latest trends in the Market Place. I will use the oppurtunity of being in the trenches with the top real estate agents in Colorado to help give some insight into the market.

Does The Size Of You Website Matter

We have been very lucky www.homesincolorado.com has proven itself to be one of the top real estate and home search sites in Colorado. Recently we have seen our traffic jump by over 30% in the last quarter. As a result of being the premier website for Colorado real estate and Colorado homes for sale it is not uncommon for agents to ask how much they should invest in their site and does the size of the site matter.

My answer is usually the size of the site does matter, but what matters more is the heart in the site. It is amazing that you can sit in an office of 75 agents and how rarely they bump into each other in the market place or have overlapping spheres. This is because each agent is unique and brings a special set of skills to the market place.

It is this uniqueness that agents need to begin to embrace on the web. If you love cooking your real estate website should have a cooking slant to it so your Long Tail terms bring Buyers that are going to mesh in your sphere. If you love, golf, horseback riding, drinking beer, it really does not matter, if you build your business and website around what makes you special the big site such as ours will have a hard time competing in the Long Tail search realm.

For Short Tail terms such as Boulder real estate or homes in Denver the individual agent may have a hard time competing and size does matter. For Long Tail terms such as Wash Park Homes for Sale, Mapleton Hill homes, Newlands Homes, Denver Quilting Club, Cooking classes for newcomers, Denver Victorians the agent who is true to who they are can and will win in the online world.

The key is to be specific in your blogs, twitter, keyword usage, linking, etc. Make sure you are not trying to please to many masters and diluting your site. Pick your strategy and business focus. Once your ranking is established than begin to expand. Most agent fail because they try to be everything to everyone.

So the answer is yes size does matter, but if you stay true to who you are and what your unique value proposition is quality will win every time.
