Boulder Cruiser Night: I'm there!

Last night, as I left a get-together at the Hotel Boulderado, I saw the remnants of the weekly Cruiser Ride parked in front of JoyEngine, which was having some kind of art party.

That reminded me -- hey, I have a real cruiser now! My new Electra Townie 3 has three speeds, upright handlebars, fenders, a chain guard, and geeky side baskets. I'm set!

So I've put the cruiser ride on my calendar, and I'm going to definitely make next Thursday's ride (May 10), provided the weather isn't totally crappy. So if you see me there, say hi.

The Boulder Bicycle Commuters site says the weekly ride starts " 7-7:30pm at the Scott Carpenter Park located on the Southwest corner of Arapahoe and 30th St." So I'll look there first. But if I don't see the group coalescing there, I'll proceed downtown and listen for bells and raucous cheers. shouldn't be too hard to find.

Now, I'll have to appropriately attire my bike. I haven't decorated a bike since my hometown's Independence Day parades back when I was, oh, nine. Got any simple, inexpensive, and reversible bike decor tips? Please comment below or e-mail me at amy@gahran.com. I definitely need help -- I'm fashion-impaired.

...And to get you in the cruiser mood, here's a Google Video, with original music. Enjoy!
