I've
blogged before
about how I'm a huge fan of the local band
Wide Mouth Grin
-- for good reason. They are among the most talented musicians in the area, and some of the best I've ever known. Fortunately they're not pretentious, and their shows are a whole lot of fun.
They've just e-mailed out their June gig calendar. Here it is:
Thursday June 7:
Dulcinea's
, 717 E Colfax, Denver, 10 PM
Friday June 8:
1st St. Grill , Nederland, 10 PM
Friday June 15
: Little Bear Saloon, Evergreen, 5 PM HApPy HoUr!
Sat. June 16:
Planetmind Fest, Nederland, on the creek. 6pm
Friday June 29:
Cactus Jack's, Evergreen, 10 pm
The June 7 gig at Dulcinea's is especially important
. I'll be there, and I hope you can join me. If Wide Mouth Grin draws a big enough crowd to that gig, they'll probably get to play at that attractive venue more regularly. Basically, it's an opportunity for these talented, cool, hardworking guys to move up a notch in the local music scene. And they deserve it.
So I'll be there -- I'll be able to borrow someone's car for that, and I'll be bringing at least one friend with me. If you're from Boulder and want a ride, let me know!
