Working and Networking
This is a blog about finding work, surviving your job, and networking in Colorado. My background is corporate HR mixed with opera singing and speaking and writing about work and networking. I'm a working mom with five kids ages four to thirteen.

Four million people in our state - and one hundred and forty thousand of them are
LinkedIn
users! That's a lot - don't ask me the percentage of our state population the LinkedIn users represent, because I'm terrible with percentages. But almost a hundred and fifty thousand LinkedIn users here in Colorado is plenty of evidence that you should be using LinkedIn yourself, if you want to be connected to the businesspeople in our ecosystem.
Mike O'Neill of Integrated Alliances puts on regular LinkedInLive! events in Denver and in the Boulder-Broomfield area. You can find Mike on LinkedIn - it's free to join. I don't know of any other social networking site that so many Coloradoans have glommed onto. The largest Yahoo!group in our area that is business-focused - that I know of, anyway - is the
RMIUG
group, the Rocky Mountain Internet Users Group, with about 15,000 members. But it's tech-focused; if you don't care about internet technology, it might not be a great fit for you.

Mike O'Neil also has a LinkedIn.com workshop that he gives a couple of times a month. It is great for novice to intermediate. He shows all the tricks and gets you up and using the system during the workshop. Bring your laptop and it will be especially beneficial. www.integratedalliances.com
