Today I found an article on an example of programming to target a specific audience - children. Most organizations know how important it is to reach out to a younger audience in order to keep their cultural art offering alive in the future. The best way to do this is to program directly for children.

...
A direct quote from the article:
"Today, Rosie O'Donnell, the 13-time Emmy Award-winning comedian, television talk show host, author, film, television, and stage actress kicked off this year's
Kids' Night on Broadway
, the annual event during which young people ages 6 to 18 can attend a Broadway show for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult. Ms. O'Donnell serves as this year's National Ambassador for Kids' Night."
It may not be necessary to give the kid ticket away for free, but to have a program that would specifically get children relating to your art form is priceless. I highly recommend that if you have not added a kid-friendly program in your season, that you start brainstorming ideas for one. It all comes down to setting up your audience for generations to come.
Until next time, may all your audiences be happy and loyal ones, and if not, feel free to contact me.
