More Torture in Boulder
Contributed by: Amy Gahran   on 3/6/2007

Yesterday I visited the chef who is being tortured in front of the Days Inn on S. Boulder Rd. I assured him that I was notifying the Red Cross, the UN, and Human Rights Watch of his situation. He moaned softly -- whether in pain or in thanks, I don't know. He's still too terrorized to speak.

I photographed his hand, which he's afraid to put down lest his captors beat him further. His wrist was broken and never properly set, so he cannot straighten it. You can clearly see the incisions where he may have been abused with a drill, the missing fingernail pulled from his index finger, and the acid scars on his forearm.
Chilling.
