Free beer!

...now that I have your attention, I can see how many people really read my blog.
If this title isn't catchy, I don't know what is.

We all know there is no such thing as a free beer ... unless you are a pretty girl. Out at a bar. Then it's actually pretty easy.

Now I don't wanna sound sexist ... but it is true, that girls get free drinks much more often than men get free drinks. Seriously. How good looking does a guy have to be for a girl to go and buy him a drink in an attempt to flirt with him? He has to be like a Brad Pitt or a Johnny Depp.

I wonder if mere mortal men like me can ever get enough make-up on to look good enough to get a girl to buy a flirt drink. I don't think it can happen ... it's too much of a risk for the girl. It's too against the grain. It's not the norm. Society really works because every one follows the norm ...it's the normal thing to do.

Gender roles make for easy blogging. I even took that class at CU. Ya know the one. The sex class. The one where you watch porn like the fifth week in. Social Construction of Sexuality ... a social studies class. But it taught me well about gender roles in youth culture nowadays (and also to remove your socks before participating in coitus).

Anyway... I'm gonna go out and pay for a beer, since I certainly won't get one for free.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining ... beer is soo awesome that it's totally worth paying for.
