How far would you walk for fairness? Would you walk across Colorado?
Referendum I, on the ballot this fall, does not authorize gay marriage. Instead, it provides basic legal rights to committed same-sex couples, including:
- the right to visit a sick or dying partner in the hospital.
- the right to make end of life decisions and funeral arrangements.
- the right to inheritance and property rights.
Coloradans for Fairness, the statewide organization created to ensure the passage of Referendum I, has challenged its supporters to make the 380-mile trek in support of basic legal rights.
For the first time in a Colorado political issue campaign, a major fundraising effort is being conducted solely in a virtual world.
The "iWalk for Fairness" in support of Referendum I is an online fundraiser that asks supporters to raise $1 per mile in their virtual walk across Colorado amounting to a minimum of $380 per walker.
The iWalk is accessible at both
http://www.iwalkforfairness.org/ and the Referendum I campaign Web site at
http://www.fairequal.org/. The iWalk site offers a quick, easy way for supporters to register for the online fundraiser. The Web sites also helps walkers recruit friends and family to support the walk.
Join the iWalkForFairness campaign today and help win basic legal rights for all committed same sex couples in Colorado.
