For the November 6 Board of Education election, there are seven certified BVSD candidates running for four open seats on ballot this fall. Each of the four district seats up for election are Director Districts A, C, D and G.

Director District A is currently represented by Board President Helayne Jones. Dr. Jones is running for re-election and is unopposed for a second term.

Director District C is currently represented by Board Vice President Angelika Schroeder. Dr. Schroeder is term-limited and will leave the Board in November. John Satter and Laurie Albright, both of Boulder, are the candidates for this open seat.

Director District D is currently represented by Ken Roberge. Mr. Roberge is running for re-election and is unopposed for a second term.

Director District G is currently represented by Board Treasurer Teresa Steele. Ms. Steele is term-limited and will leave the Board in November. Edward A. Gazvoda, of Lafayette, Rosabelle Rice, of Lafayette, and Jim Reed, of Erie, are the candidates for this open seat.

Ballot order for the two contested seats was determined by lot. Though candidates for Board director seats must reside in their respective district, BVSD registered voters will be able to vote in all four races on the ballot. The Board of Education will formally certify the November 6 election results on November 27. The newly elected and re-elected Board directors will be sworn in that night.
