Buffs, Huskers desperately seeking a win
Contributed by: Kevin Villegas/YourHub.com   on 11/21/2007

Friday will see a rekindling of one of the biggest rivalries in the region.

The Colorado Buffaloes will welcome the Nebraska Cornhuskers to Folsom Field at 10 a.m. Nov. 23 for what will definitely be the last game of the season for one team. The game will be televised nationally on ABC.

Both teams can become bowl eligible with a victory. Last year, the Buffs lost 37-14 in Lincoln. I hope that fans of the Huskers come out of the woodwork early this year and start harping on how its "not a rivalry, more like domination."

It's true: The Huskers are 46-17-2 all time against the Buffs. That's pretty close to domination. But every time these teams get together, it's a hard fought battle and this Friday's game will be no different.

Plus, Nebraska coach Bill Callahan is on the ropes, fighting for his football life, with Interim AD Tom Osborne all but announcing that he won't be back next year.

Coach Hawk is trying to get bowl eligible for the first time as CU's head coach.
This year's total of 5 wins so far is already 2 1/2 times better than last year's win total of 2.

The Daily Camera has a story about the rivalry. Click here to read it.

The Times-Call also has a story about the Nebraska game.

Here's the Denver Post's take.
