IT'S ALL DOWNHILL FROM HERE: GRANBY RANCH HOSTS MOUNTAIN STATES CUP #9, SOL SQUARED, GRAVITY MOUNTAIN BIKING COMPETITION

Spend Summer's Last Long Weekend Watching Exhilarating Downhill Races and Engaging in Outdoor Activities

GRANBY, Colo... As summer hurtles to a close, one last spectacular quick-weekend-getaway event begs to be added to the calendar. This Labor Day weekend, Granby Ranch will host one of the nation's few high-quality gravity biking events: the Mountain States Cup Championship Series' Sol Squared competition August 29-31 at SolVista Bike Park at Granby Ranch.

Downhill (D) and super downhill (SD) competitions in this world class racing event will feature pros and amateurs from ages 12 to over 50 - sure to floor enthusiasts of all ages. Plus, Granby Ranch has designed a special VIP weekend around the event for families to "stay and play" and experience all that the area has to offer. What's even better: all VIP Granby Ranch guests will be privy to special up-close seating at the Sol Squared competitions!

The ninth stop on the race tour, all of the adrenaline-pumping, downhill-racing excitement will happen at Granby Ranch's SolVista Bike Park. Located in the heart of the Rocky Mountains between Winter Park and Grand Lake, the course boasts professionally designed, super-challenging trails and cutting-edge amenities where pro riders and beginners alike can find safe, fun and unforgettable two-wheeled adventures.

Open for enjoyment by all when the event is over (and just a single gas tank from the city), SolVista Basin Bike Park at Granby Ranch is the transformation of the alpine skiing spot to a summer mountain bike mecca. The park features six trails geared for all ability levels. Two black, two blue and two green trails wind down the mountain, complemented by a pump track and dual slalom course in the base area. The pump track is also geared for all abilities, and is located between the Basin's fire pit and main ski lift. Berms and rollers allow bikers to generate speed and momentum while honing in their skills. For non-riders, a social area and patio side bar are located right next to the Base Camp Lodge at the bike park.

Outside of mountain biking, there's something for everyone at the picturesque Granby Ranch: fly fishing in the Fraser River, hiking amid gorgeous peaks and wildflower meadows, teeing off at the neighborhood's 18-hole Headwaters Golf Course, and much more. Granby Ranch is packed with engaging activities sure to delight all, and people are invited to come up for the weekend to discover what it's like to live in Granby Ranch. Families can discover their second home and get to know an amazing one-of-a-kind mountain community less than two hours from the Front Range by staying the entire weekend with special discounted two-night accommodations at a scenic mountain-side location. For $269, families can stay the entire weekend and partake in the following activities:
