Public feedback needed on WashingtonVillage site

The city of Boulder recommendations group (RG) will hold an outreach "Design Charrette" workshop from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, March 29 and 30, at Washington School, 1215 Cedar Ave. The design charrette will allow participants to develop alternative site plan ideas for the Washington School site. The agenda will be the same each day. State approved family child care pre-licensing training being offered

The city of Boulder's Children, Youth and Families (CYF) Division is offering a training series for people interested in becoming licensed family child care providers starting Monday , April 7. The classes will be conducted in Lafayette at the YMCA Arapahoe Center (2800 Dagny Way) and meet state licensing requirements. Topics covered include child development, family and community relationships, cultural and individual diversity, safety and nutrition, business practices, professionalism, universal precautions, and manyother topics. Boulder senior centers now have WiFi

The East Boulder Senior Center, 5660 Sioux Drive, and the West Boulder Senior Center, 909 Arapahoe, now have free WiFi available. There are two computer kiosks available in each senior center lobby or seniors can bring their laptops with WiFi cards installed. The centers are open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays and maintenance closures. For more information, call the East Boulder Senior Center at 303-441-4150. "Hangin' with BPR" spring break day camps available for children ages four to 10
The city of Boulder's Parks and Recreation Department is hosting "Hangin' with BPR" spring break day camps for children ages four to 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, March 24 to 28, at the North Boulder Recreation Center, 3170 Broadway Ave. Activities will include swimming, sports, crafts, dance, yoga and gymnastics. Participants are asked to bring a lunch, gym shoes, swimsuit, towel and snacks. Daily fees are $55 for Boulder residents and $66 for non-residents. Registration available for spring break camp with Gonzo

Registration is available for "Spring Break Camp with Gonzo," featuring tennis, games and activities. The camp will be held from Tuesday, March 25, to Thursday, March 27, at the East Boulder Community Center, 5660 Sioux Drive. Participants ages 11 to 16 will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and participants ages five to 10 will meet from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The cost is $90 for Boulder residents and $113 for non-residents. Youth flag football registration extended to March 26

Registration for "Youth 5-on-5 Flag Football" has been extended to Wednesday, March 26. The cost is $65 for Boulder residents and $81 for non-residents. An organizational practice will be held on Saturday, March 29, at Valmont City Park, at the intersection of Airport and Valmont roads. Participants will be divided into three groups by grade (second- and third-graders meet at 9 a.m.; fourth- and fifth-graders meet at 10 a.m.; and sixth- and seventh-graders meet at 11 a.m.). All participants must provide a mouthpiece (rubber cleats are optional--no metal cleats are allowed). After the organizational practice, teams will practice one night each week at city parks and fields with games on Saturday mornings at Valmont City Park. Become a junior ranger

The city of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) Department is currently accepting applications for their Junior Ranger program. Young people ages 14 to 17 who enjoy the outdoors are encouraged to apply. The Junior Ranger program is a unique job opportunity for teens, providing a means to learn job skills and participate in a community-based conservation effort. Junior rangers make a five-week commitment to work on a 10-member trail maintenance crew, completing a variety of manual tasks including trails and trailhead maintenance, weed removal, and other natural resource projects. ReWild your mind
City of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) Department naturalist Margot Smit will lead hikers on Part I of ReWilding Minds hike from 9 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 29. The hike will begin at Enchanted Mesa-McClintock Trailhead behind Chautauqua Auditorium at the end of 12 th Street south of Baseline Road. Hikers will visit a ponderosa pine forest to look for health in wild lands and see what they can tell us about our wild mind. Part II follows on April 26. This hike is recommended for adults only. Hike with non-hikers

Join city of Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks (OSMP) Jake Davis on a slow hike for non-hikers from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, beginning at the Chautauqua Ranger Cottage, 900 Baseline Road..
