Drug Free Marshals Get the Word Out:

"Say Yes To Life, Say No To Drugs"

  • Anti-drug education campaign launched

The Church of Scientology's Drug Free Marshals marched in the Boulder Lights of December Parade, Saturday December 2nd, advising all onlookers to "Say Yes To Life, Say No To Drugs." The Marshals were greeted with support and cheers as they handed out anti-drug education booklets about a variety of abused drugs.

The Drug Free Marshals program has been a part of the church's drug education and prevention program for over ten years and is geared toward prevention by encouraging children to pledge to live drug-free lives and help others to do the same.

This year, the Church of Scientology launched a drug education program called "Say Yes To Life, Say No To Drugs" to get the facts about the harmful effects of drugs into the hands of people of all ages. The church has published a new series of booklets which address society's most abused drugs including marijuana, cocaine, crystal meth, LSD, heroin and ecstasy as well as prescription drugs which are illegally sold on the streets such as painkillers and Ritalin (often referred to as "kiddie cocaine"). Each booklet documents the short and long term effects of the drug, street names, personal stories and the specifics about addiction and why the user becomes more and more hooked.

"Drugs destroy millions of lives every year," said Mike Benetatos, local "Say Yes To Life, Say No To Drugs" Campaign Coordinator. "When a person is armed with the facts about drugs and what drugs do to one's body and mind, they can make an informed decision on drugs. Getting the truth about drugs known is our main mission."

The "Say Yes To Life, Say No To Drugs" drug education series is available to schools and community groups for their use and includes 10 educational booklets and an activities manual to help groups get started. Volunteers working with this program are also available to deliver drug education lectures and help in any way they can.

Here's what L.Ron Hubbard says about Jesus Christ: Somebody somewhere on this planet, back about 600 BC, found some pieces of R6, and I don't know how they found it, either by watching madmen or something, but since that time they have used it and it became what is known as Christianity. Scientology's drug program doesn't have the amazing "90% success rate" that the cult claims. Similarly NarCONon, Scientology's "detox" program that has been thrown out of schools nationwide for being "bad science", is the same pseudo-scientific "drug program" as the "Say Yes to Life" program. The only products of these schemes are more Scientologists, though much less than used to happen since the public knows better than to believe you can sweat radiation, heavy metals or drugs out of your system in a sauna. L. Ron Hubbard said that "radiation is water-soluable, and this fact is known by trained personnel" - but Hubbard neglected to note that his definition of "trained personnel" meant SCIENTOLOGY-indoctrinated personnel. Susan Gaut has donated over $5000 to the UFO cult of Scientology. She is a member of the IAS (International Assoc. of Scientologists). Don't allow this insidious and lying cult into your schools with their front groups. Read more about how L. Unfortunately the only reason Scientologist do anything is in order to recruit people into their cult. If you examine the litrature that they distributed I'm sure you would find that rather than accepted antidrug advice you would find that it is Narconon Scienology literature. Just like the Hollywood Education and Literacy Project and Applied Scholastics International these programs are just a way for them to make Scientology appear acceptable to people and divert attention from the fact that it is a cult that is little more than an orginized crime syndicate. You must also understand that Scientologist are against the use of FDA approved anti-deppresents and anti-scicotic drugs and have waged a long term war of retoric against psyciatry.

This is just about as useless as Nancy Reagan's "Just Say No" campaign! Addiction is a disease of the brain chemistry, not a moral failing. People are already aware that doing drugs is not a healthy choice--they are not going to read that sign and go "Oh, really? Oh, ok then--I won't do drugs--problem solved!" Education IS valuable, but you cannot eradicate the disease of addiction with simplistic slogans and rah-rah cheerleaderism. The entire country needs educating on the biochemical changes that occur in the addicted brain, and how medical science (NOT "christian science") can help.

While this may seem like a good thing, there is more to this story. Scientology does good acts to hide its evil actions. Its also to recuit new members by useing their kids to get to them. See both sides. Go to scientology.com then see the critical side at xenu.net and xenutv.net
