How you have contributed to the community: As far as "official" positions, I have served on the Longmont Human Relations Commission and Longmont Community Justice Partnership.I have also been a den mother for cub scouts and team manager for my son's soccer team.I have also done the"unofficial" things everyone does, like helping out at school, participating in fundraising events for worthy causes, and running folks to doctor's appointments or the grocery store.

What are the biggest issues facing your constituency now: The most pressing issue in Senate District 17 is the economy, especially foreclosures. Not only are we losing friends, customers, and businesses, but we are losing our economic vitality as well.We need to address the mortgage crisis(keep as many people in their homes as possible), institute true education reform, give commuters choices (RTD must honor its commitment to Eastern Boulder County),lower the tax and regulatory burden on small businesses, and eliminate the business personal property tax. Also, we need to pass Jessica's Law which keeps our children safe from known pedophiles.

I would love to earn your vote this fall.
