Don't Miss Light Up The Ice at the Ice Rink at One Boulder Plaza Friday, Nov. 28, 2008 - 5:45 - 10 pm

FREE Family Ice Show & DISCOUNTED Public Ice Skating

The Ice Rink at One Boulder Plaza kicks off the holiday season with Light Up The Ice, a professional family ice show, sponsored by First National Bank of Colorado at 5:45 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, 2008. Discounted public skating will follow from 6:30 p.m. until 10 p.m.

The holiday event begins with Downtown Boulder's annual Switch On The Holidays Celebration on the Pearl Street Mall, which will be immediately followed by The Ice Rink celebration, including a special ice show at 5:45 pm. Light Up The Ice includes performances by local ice skating stars, and discounted public skating from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Tweedles, the #1 Elf from the North Pole, will meet and greet guests as they arrive, entertain children throughout the evening with spectacular balloon creations including red and white candy canes and red nosed reindeers, and teach kids the secret North Pole Elf Shake.

"I can't think of a better way to celebrate the holiday spirit than to invite kids and families from Boulder and surrounding communities to this old fashioned family event," says The Ice Rink's manager, Cindi Indermill.

Friday, November 28, 2008 Event Schedule:

5 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. Downtown Boulder's "Switch on the Holidays" lighting ceremony on the Pearl Street Mall

5:45 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. Light Up the Ice: Free performance by local ice skating stars

6:30 p.m. - 10 p.m. Discounted skating open to the public. $3.00 admission / $1.00 skate rental (all ages)

The Ice Rink's Light Up the Ice is a public event sponsored by

First National Bank of Colorado.

Public skating at The Ice Rink officially opens Nov. 25, 2008.
