Well you’d that to find a review of this summer blockbuster hits the place to go would be downtown Boulder, where they are filming a major Hollywood release, Catch and Release.

But it turned out that most people who showed up at the mall during the filming had just wandered down there, and were reported surprised at ending up at a Hollywood film shoot.

“Well, we were shopping too,” explained Tracy Ash of Boulder. For her money, Ash said that that War of the Worlds will have to take top prize for the top film of the summer.

“I love blockbusters, and I love action films,” she said.

Ash’s friend, Jessica Goldberg, agreed that War of the Worlds was her No. 1 pick.

“It would have to be. It’s the only one I saw,” she said.

Lindsey Raabe of Broomfield said she is only a little bit of a movie buff and had not planned her day around coming down to the shoot.

“Well, I was already down here,” she explained. For her No. 1 pick of this summer, it was Star Wars.

Really the only one who admitted being down there for the shoot was Jackie Bonn, who lives only two blocks away.

“I never come down here,” she said. For her money, there’s only one choice in any summer, fall, winter or spring for that matter in a No. 1 film.

“My husband is named James Bonn. We always go the first day (a James Bond film is released),” she said. “I’m a Bonn girl.”
