I'm always on the lookout for new restaurants to try, and there is nothing like having out-of-state visitors to use as a good excuse to check out new venues in our own hometown. Imagine my surprise when a friend had mentioned a local one that I'd never been to overlooking the Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (formerly Jeffco Airport), The Runway Grill.
It sounded like the perfect place to try when my in-laws were in town. I knew we would all like to see the planes, and when she mentioned that each table was decorated with a glass enclosed navigator's map, I knew it would be the perfect place to take someone like my father-in-law, who was retired Air Force.
We had heard that it was a great place to take children, and we'd been told that Fridays seem to be a good day to catch a lot of air traffic. So, I put it on our schedule of events, and when that Friday rolled around, we took our visitors there for lunch.
It was awesome! The food was fabulous and eating our lunch while watching the planes land and take off was an incredible treat. From our vantage point, we could see the gorgeous snow-capped mountains, and the view of Downtown Denver was clear. What a beautiful day!
If you're in the mood for something unique, you should check out
The Runway Grill!
We can't wait to go back!
