Immigration: Economics, Issues and Solutions
We've all heard the immigration debate, but do we really know the facts behind the arguments? The YWCA of Boulder County and Allies for Immigrant Rights, a project of El Centro AMISTAD, the Rocky Mountain Peace and JusticeCenter and the YWCA, are hosting a panel discussion with leading local experts on immigration. The panel will be on Thursday, March 20 th from 5:30 - 7:00 pm at the YWCA of Boulder County on 2222 14 th Street in Boulder. The event is free and open to the public.
The panel discussion brings together representatives of state and federal officials and local experts to discuss current immigration policy, upcoming policy proposals and what the public can do to be involved. Panelists include Carter Ellison, Director of Constituency Services for Congressman Mark Udall's office, Rich Jones, Director of Policy and Research for the BellPolicyCenter, and Amber Tafoya, Policy Director for the Colorado Immigrant Rights Coalition. A local BoulderCounty state legislator and a representative from Senator Ken Salazar's office have also been invited. Janet Beardsley, YWCA Executive Director, will moderate the forum.
Space is limited and everyone is encouraged to RSVP to the YWCA at 303-443-0419.
