2008 defines our future
Contributed by: Danielle Glover on 3/25/2008

2008 is a very important year! The choices that we will make this year will define our future especially when it comes to energy issues. 2008 is the year that we can move forward to a clean energy economy that creates jobs, save consumers money and solves global warming or we can continue the expensive, polluting polices of the past.

The Bush Administration has handed down energy policies that have produced high oil and gas prices, kept us dependent on foreign sources of oil, and put us behind in combating climate change. We have the ability to use alternative energy sources such as wind and solar power to promote a clean energy future. By promoting alternative energy sources we can create and keep jobs in our country, generate profits, save money and cut carbon emissions that cause global warming.

We have the technology and the power to build a clean energy future. We just have not had the political will or leadership needed to take us to the next level. We need to challenge all of our elected officials, including the next President, to provide the leadership needed to move us forward. Please find out where your candidates and public officials stand and encourage them to work towards a clean energy future.

If you are interested in getting more involved in raising the awareness about alternative energy sources please call the Boulder Sierra Club at 303.449.5595 or check out www.sierraclub.org/power2change. There will many opportunities to work events, canvass, and phone from now until Earth Day on April 22nd!

This is great. I really feel that too many people make a donation and think thats enough, but I know it's equally important to volunteer. I think this is a great oppotunity to get involved!
