The coffee keeps on coming
But the caffeine
Never seems to kick in
I stare and wonder
When will I find something
To wake me up?
Something to energize
Oh how I wait
For the poison to kick in
And the life to appear
Send me another
Make it a triple
If this doesn't do it
Perhaps drugs
Really are the solution
I rub the Buddha
Hanging around my neck
Dream of a miracle
A cure for this
Writers block
The cocaine addicts
Sit all around me
Hooking themselves up
To their caffeine IVs
The folk singer
Strums his final note
As I crumple up this paper
Ready to inject again
