Orchestra raises funds through peach sales
Contributed by: Marsha Slepicka on 9/22/2008

Classic music and peaches - what do these two things have in common? A lot for the Niwot High School Symphony Orchestra.

The Orchestra, under the direction of Keith Ellison, has been invited to attend the American String Teacher's Association National Orchestra Festival in Atlanta, Ga.
The orchestra students are working very hard to raise money to help finance the trip. They have already sold 500 cases of peaches, fresh from Cunningham Colorado Peaches in Palisade, Colo. On Sept. 13 and 14, another 100 cases were sold. Sales of these peaches help the entire orchestra.

If you love the arts and would like to support the orchestra, these young adults would accept donations towards their expenses. You are more than welcome to help them, just send a check, payable to Niwot High School Boosters, to Niwot High School, 8989 E. Niwot Road, Niwot, CO 80503. Please indicate that you are helping the orchestra in the memo section or on a note enclosed with your check.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Marsha Slepicka at
jmsranch@comcast.net.

The festival, which will take place March 18 to 21, brings together orchestras from around the country. To learn more about the upcoming competition, go to www.astaweb.com
