Transafrika Benefit Concert
Contributed by: Steve Baroch on 10/5/2008

Transafrika Cultural Institutes is a Colorado Non-Profit organization which supports many projects in Africa. A group of Kenyans came to Denver to live and decided theywanted to give back to their country of origin. As a result, they have developed a network of support to provide books and educational supplies to schools and orphanages in Kenya.Transafrika supplies medical equipment to Nigeria and airshipped medical supplies to Kenya during Kenya's civil strife in Jan - Mar 2008. Currently, we are collecting funds to take a container of donated books, computers and clothes to people who so desparately need them in Kenya.
Transafrika is hosting a Benefit Concert October 18th at Davis Auditorium at University of Denver. The event begins at 7:00 and will include bands such as "all capitals", Sia, Grace Christus, Tempting Zen and "African Drum and Dance". We will also have African arts and crafts for sale, refreshments and a special guest, Julie Pech, "The Chocolate Therapist". Tickets are $7 at the door. Come and have a great night of music and fun...and...take part in helping the neediest of our friends in Africa to improve their lives! Visit us at www.transafrikacultural.org
