Apply to join Roots & Branches Foundation a group of Jews in their twenties and thirties working to shape our future.
Rose Community Foundation is looking for a diverse group of individuals who want to make a real difference in the Denver/Boulder Jewish community by learning about philanthropy and becoming grantmakers. We are seeking people who are not involved in the Jewish community, and those who are. If you are Jewish, between the ages of 25 and 40, and willing to be a part of an experimental venture, apply to be a part of the Roots & Branches Foundation.
What You Will Be Doing
You will work with Rose Community Foundation staff and 17 other members of the Roots & Branches Foundation to identify needs in the community, learn about grantmaking approaches, Jewish philanthropic traditions, create grant priorities, evaluate grant proposals and make site visits. Together you will take the leadership of the Roots & Branches Foundation and grant up to $100,000 with a primarily Jewish perspective.
The Commitment
This is a seven-month commitment. You must attend an orientation retreat, a final retreat and up to nine evening meetings, generally held every three weeks on Mondays, starting in July 2008. There will be site visits, occasional phone calls and research outside of regular meetings. Most of the meetings will be held at the Rose Community Foundation office in Denver.
