Heritage Fair April 28, 9 - 5

Fort Lupton Heritage Fair brings the past to the present

What was it like living during the French & Indian War, the American Revolution, the Fur Trading era, the Civil War and the early years of the West, when the Buffalo Soldier units were formed? Come by the first annual Heritage Fair in historic Fort Lupton from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. April 28, 2007 to venture back to those eras. This time-lined event will take visitors back to see, hear and feel what it was like to live in the 1800's.

Listen to Annie Oakley, watch trick roping, spinners and weavers, blacksmithing, see the Buffalo Soldiers ride through routines, visit a one room school house, tour an 1860's style pioneers home and see how the 1836 Fort Lupton is being re-created.

The fair is free; however, there will be charges for some special fund raising events, such as shooting a black powder rifle at the firing range, horse and wagon rides and for the food and drink that will be available on site.

To find the fair, take Highway 85 to the stop light at WCR 14 ½, approximately 1 mile past Hwy 52, and go west about a half mile to Historic Park Way.

Don't miss this unique opportunity and all of the fun, fascination and history of this event. Contact www.spvhs.org for updates.
