University of Denver women's soccer forward
Lleane Grimditch
(Boulder, Colo.) has been invited to training camp at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif., for the Under-21 women's national team. Grimditch will train with the team from Jan. 14-21.
"Lleane wasn't immediately identified as a national team player out of high school," said head coach Jeff Hooker. "But through her intelligence and willingness to learn the game and numerous systems, she has vaulted herself into that category and has been afforded a great opportunity to showcase her skills."
Grimditch was named Sun Belt Conference Preseason Player of the Year for the second consecutive year and was a First Team All-Sun Belt selection for the third consecutive year. Grimditch was an important piece of the Pioneer offense this season. She started in 15 games this season and recorded six goals and three assists on the season. Grimditch had led the team in shots, goals and shots on goals. She was tied for first in game winners with two on the season. >
