MAN AIMS AIR GUN AT FIRE CREWPolice arrested a man on a municipal charge of aiming a weapon at another after the crew of a fire engine reported being tracked with a laser while driving by the New West Inn on the Baseline Frontage Road on July 14. The suspect was apparently testing out the laser on his new air-soft gun.
SEMI HITS CAR
Officers responded to a traffic accident at a construction site along south Broadway on July 15. At about 9:23 p.m., a driver followed a construction semi-truck and trailerheaded southbound on Broadway through a coned-off lane. The driver of the semi began backing up to receive his cargo and was unaware the car was behind him. The semi hit the car. It is unclear why the driver of the car drove past the cones into the protected construction zone.
MAN EXPOSES SELF
A 55-year-old male was arrested after police responded to the 2500 block of 28th Street on the report of a male exposing himself to passersbyin his vehicle July 16.
A BAD TRIP
Police were dispatched to the area of 28th and Iris streets to an out of control nude male yelling in the middle of the intersection July 16. The man was uncooperative with officers and they later ascertained he and a friendhad allegedly taken acid earlier in the day. The friend was at an apartment nearby and was unresponsive. Both were transported to BoulderCommunityHospital.
WOMAN BLEEDING, DOESN'T SAY HOW
Officers responded to the area of Fifth and Pearl streets on a domestic disturbance July 16. They observed a female bleeding profuselyfrom her face.She was uncooperative and unwilling to sayhow shewas injured. Witnesses said she got out of a black SUV and proceeded to sit in the median. The victim wastransported to BoulderCommunityHospital.
JUVENILE SPRAY PAINTS SCHOOL
Officers arrested a juvenile suspect who had spray painted part of the roof of CentennialMiddle School, 2205 Norwood Ave., at about 10 p.m. July 17. He was issued a ticket and released to the custody of his mother.
MAN ARRESTED FOR ASSAULT
Police arrested a man after an assault outside The Catacombs, 2115 13 th St., at about 11 p.m. July 17. The suspect is accused of assaulting two employees who asked a group of people to stop drinking and urinating outside the establishment. He was booked into the county jail on suspicion of third-degree assault.
BURGLARY REPORTED
Officers responded to a second-degree burglary in the 2000 block of Hillside Circle on July 18.
CAR HITS OFFICER
Police responded to a traffic accident involving a police cruiser at 6th Street and Canyon Boulevard at about 4:30 p.m. July 19. There were no injuries. The driver of the civilian car was cited for turning left and failing to yield.
TRANISENT TASERED, KEEPS GOING
Officers responded to a report of harassment at the outdoor theater at 14th Street and Arapahoe Avenue, on July 19. When there, they encountered three transients, one of whom was acting aggressively. An officer used a Taser to stop him from coming toward her. He managed to pull the probe out and ran. The officer located him later in the day.
BURGLARY REPORTED
Officers responded to a second-degree burglary in the 700 block of Marine Street on July 19. Female residents were home at the time but asleep. The case remains under investigation.
PHARMACY BROKEN INTO
Officers responded to a break-in at a pharmacy in the 1000 block of Alpine Street on July 20. The suspect was gone when they arrived. A window had been broken. The case remains under investigation.
PHONE OUTAGE CAUSED BY VANDALIZED BOX
Dispatch experienced a phone outage that was affecting the non-emergency phone lines at about 9:45 p.m. July 20. Officers found a vandalized Qwest box on 30 th Street. Crews were called out to make repairs. The 911 lines were still operable.
SEX ASSAULT UNDER INVESTIGATION
Officers took a report of a sexual assault from a victim who said she was assaulted on July 19 by an acquaintance at her home. She would not provide a suspect name and declined to undergo a sexual assault exam. The case remains under investigation.
