Police Blotter: Stolen vehicle or bad memory?

Incidents reported by Boulder Police

Officers took a report of a motor vehicle theft from the 4900 block of Table Mesa Drive on July 5. The green Toyota Previahad reportedly gonemissing from the RTD Park and Ride sometime in the last two weeks. Officers later located the vehicle on a different level of the garage thanwhere the person thought they had parked.

Officers took a theft report from the 1900 block of 19th Street on July 8. The victim's Gary Fisher bicycle went missing sometime in mid-June. The bike was later recovered after employeesat Full Cycle, 1795 Pearl St., reported a man trying to tune up a bike they knew to be stolen. The 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft and second degree burglary.

Police were investigating an assault that occurred between two transient women on the 1200 block of Arapahoe Avenue on July 4.This was originally thought to be a thrid degree assault, but injuries sustained by the victim are such that the case now amounts to second degree assault. The suspect is known and the case is stillunder investigation.

Police were investigatinga firethat occurred near the area of 18th and Grove streets on July 4. After receiving a 911 call about a vehicle fire, police arrived in the areaand found the 1972 GMC van on fire.

Officers took a motor vehicle theft report from the 2800 block of Baseline Road on July 5. The 5' by 10' U-Haul trailer went missing sometime after 5 p.m. on Tuesday.

A 22-year-old Colorado City man was arrestedon suspicion ofsecond degree aggravated motor vehicle theft, possession of burglary tools and an outstanding warrant on July 6 after policecontacted a vehicle leaving Flatirons Auto Center, 2555 30thSt., just after 2 a.m. with its headlights off. Two other men, an 18-year-oldfrom Colorado City, and a 21-year old from Rye, were also arrestedon suspicion ofconspiracy to commit motor vehicle theft.

A 56-year-old man was arrested on suspicion ofindecent exposure after witnesses reported that the man exposed himself while defecating in the parking lot at 2560 28th St. on July 6.

Officers took a report of a burglary to a residence in the 4400 block of Hamilton Court on July 7. Two bicycles, valued at nearly $8,000, were taken from an unlocked garage.

A 46-year-old man was arrestedon suspicion ofpossession of burglary tools, criminal mischief and attempted theft on July 7 after policecontacted him in the bike racks in the 1000 block of Canyon Boulevard.
