Police blotter: Electrician bites hospital cord

A 26-year-old Longmont man
was arrested on suspicion of criminal mischief on July 22 after police were called to Boulder Community Hospital, 1100 Balsam Ave. to contact a patient in the emergency room, according to Boulder Police reports. The man had been arrested earlier the same day by the Boulder Police Department on suspicion of DUI and careless driving resulting in bodily injury and was at the hospital for monitoring and a medical clearance. He was accused of biting through the electrical cord connecting a pulse oximeter to his finger. On the arrest report, the suspect indicated that he was a self-employed electrician.

A 29-year-old Golden man was arrested on suspicion of third-degree assault, harassment and resisting arrest after police were called to 11th and Pearl streets on a report of disturbance on July 20. He was accused of harassing a drum player on the mall and assaulting a man who tried to get him to stop. He was not cooperative with police when contacted.

A 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of felony menacing and unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon on July 17 after police were called to King Soopers, 1650 30th St., on a report of a man who had pulled a knife on a store employee.

A 30-year-old Boulder woman was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence related harassment on July 18 after police were called to the 2700 block of Glenwood Court on a report of a woman being violent. She was accused of pushing her boyfriend during an argument.

Police were investigating a second-degree assault and crimes against an at-risk adult after being called to an assault in Canyon Park, on the 2100 block of Canyon Boulevard on July 18. The victim reported that a man grabbed him by the throat when he confronted another man in the park about his stolen bicycle. The case was still under investigation at the time of the report.

Two 21-year-old men, one from Boulder, the other from New York, were summonsed for second-degree arson on July 18. They were suspected of setting a fire inside of a trash can on the 1700 block of Pearl Street.

A 30-year-old Boulder man was arrested on suspicion of damaging the property of another, threatening bodily injury and use of fighting words after police were called to 11th and Walnut streets on July 18 on a report of a disturbance. He was accused of threatening a cab driver and breaking the side mirror and rear passenger door window of the cab after the cab driver refused to transport him because he believed him to be too intoxicated.

Officers responded to several areas of the Pearl Street Mall to find that, once again, someone had lit the kiosks on fire on July 19.

A 37-year-old Boulder man was arrested on suspicion of child abuse and his 39-year-old wife was summonsed after police were called to 7 Euro Bar, 1035 Pearl St., on a report of an intoxicated man inside the bar with an infant on July 19. Officers found the couple inside the bar with their 5-month-old son.
