Sexually violent predator released

The Boulder County Sheriff's Office will host a community meeting on Tuesday, January 15th, to make notification of the release of an individual who has been identified as being a sexually violent predator.

Sexually violent predators are deemed to present a high risk of re-offending; the meeting will be hosted in compliance with state law that authorizes law enforcement agencies to notify the public about the release of such offenders to their community.

The meeting will be held at the Rocky Mountain Christian Church, 9447 Niwot Road, Niwot, from 7:00-8:30 p.m. The residents of the immediate area will receive a mailed notice from the Sheriff's Office, advising them of the meeting date, time, and location. Additional information regarding the offender and his classification as a sexually violent predator will be discussed at the meeting.

The offender is identified as Sean Christopher Jackson, 22 years of age, a white male, 5'8", 150#, with brown hair and green eyes. A photograph accompanies this media release. Mr. Jackson was convicted in 2005 of Sexual Assault in Boulder County and Failing to Register as a Sex Offender. He has served his three year sentence to the Department of Corrections and was released on parole today, Tuesday, January 8 th.

The terms of his parole include the obligation of registering as a sex offender for the rest of his life and participation in mental health and drug/alcohol treatment programs. He may not have any contact with his victims or with children under the age of 18.

Mr. Jackson will be residing at 10480 Mooring Road, Longmont, during his parole period, and will be closely monitored by a parole officer.

There are nearly 12,000 registered sex offenders residing in Colorado, with 75 residing in unincorporated Boulder County (a list of local registered sex offenders may be found on the Sheriff's Office web-site at:

www.bouldersheriff.org). There are nearly 100 offenders state-wide who have been identified as Sexually Violent Predators.
