STUDENT BRINGS BULLET TO SCHOOL
Police responded to Columbine Elementary School, 3130 Repplier Drive on April 17 after a student brought a .380 round to school. The child did not have a weapon with him. Officers visited the family's home and took a .380 automatic pistol for safekeeping until the family can make arrangements to secure the weapon and ammunition.
WOMAN DISCOVERS A MAN IN HER BED
Officers arrested a 22-year-old Boulder man April 19 on charges of unlawful sexual contact and second-degree burglary after a woman said she woke up and found a man in her bed, touching her. The suspect, who appeared to be intoxicated, was found sleeping in the bed when police arrived. Further investigation revealed the man had been attending a party in another part of the residence when he decided he needed to find a place to sleep and climbed into the woman's bed.
WOMAN SAYS SHE WAS GROPED
Officers arrested an 18-year-old student at Boulder High School, 1604 Arapahoe Ave. on April 16 after a female student reported that he attempted to kiss her and groped her on the bike path behind the high school. The suspect was booked into the jail for investigation of unlawful sexual contact.
OFFICER WITNESSES MEN SWING KNIFE, BAT
Police responded to 3100 block of 34th Street on April 15 after a plain clothes officer saw several men involved in an incident of suspected felony menacing. One man appeared to be holding a knife and was swinging it in a slashing motion at a group of men. Another man was swinging a baseball bat at the same group. Both men entered a vehicle and left the area with the officer following. With the assistance of a Boulder County Sheriff's deputy, the officer stopped the vehicle and two men, ages 19 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of felony menacing.
