Police blotter: Man dies after fall


MAN PUNCHED IN FACE

Police responded to a second-degree assault on the 1000 block of Marine Street on April 25. Officers spoke to a man who was punched in the face by a childhood friend. Doctors classified the injuries as serious bodily injuries. The victim told police he did not wish to pursue charges. The case remained under investigation at the time of the report.

EMPLOYEE STEALS CASH

Police took a report of felony theft from Petco, 2480 Arapahoe Avenue on April 25. An employee is accused of stealing money by making fraudulent returns and voiding purchases and pocketing the cash. The case remained under investigation at the time of the report.

STOLEN ITEMS RECOVERED

Police discovered a number of stolen items in an abandoned house on the 1300 block of Violet Avenue on April 25. Several items have been matched up with three separate criminal trespass cases. The case remained under investigation at the time of the report.

WOMAN STRIKES BOYFRIEND ON FACE

Police responded to a domestic-violence related assault on the 2900 block of College Avenue on April 25. A woman was accused of punching her boyfriend in the arm and face. The woman said that her boyfriend had forced her to have sex repeatedly, including just prior to officers arriving. The case was under investigation at the time of the report.

SUICIDAL PARTY ARRESTED

Police responded to a possible suicidal party on the 3300 block of Berkeley Court on April 26. Because of safety concerns, the officers set up a large perimeter and approached the residence with a shield, long guns and less lethal weapons. The party was taken into custody without incident.

MAN FALLS OFF SKATEBOARD

Officers were dispatched to the area of Ninth Street and Arapahoe Avenue April 23 after a 20-year-old man fell backwards off of his skateboard and hit his head on the road. The man sustained life-threatening injuries and was initially transported to Boulder Community Hospital but was later airlifted to a Denver hospital. The man was pronounced dead on April 27.

WOMAN REPORTS INDECENT EXPOSURE

Officers responded to the 5100 block of Santa Clara Place on April 23 after a woman reported seeing a man outside her apartment exposing himself. The woman screamed and the suspect left the area. Officers checked the area on foot but were unable to locate the suspect.
