PATRON HITS BOUNCER IN FACEOfficers arrested a man who is accused of attempting to hit a security guard at Club Paraiso, 2690 28th St., with a pool cue on May 3. After the guard took away the pool cue, the suspect allegedly punched him in the face. The security guard used pepper spray and escorted the suspect from the business. <NO1>The patron subsequently charged a police officer. <NO>The man was booked in on charges of attempted second-degree assault, third-degree assault and obstructing a peace officer
STUDENTS ARRESTED FOR SUSPECTED HARASSMENT
Police arrested two juvenile males, both 13, on April 30 on charges of harassment and a bias-motivated crime as a result of phone calls they made on April 27 to a female classmate's cell phone. The suspects are accused of threatening to rape the girl and using sexually explicit and violent language to describe what they wanted to do to her. In one of the messages, one suspect told the girl she would die. The suspects indicated that they were targeting the victim because she is Asian-American. A third juvenile has been identified, but he is younger than the statutory age that would allow the police to pursue criminal charges against him. School officials have been notified and have been involved in the investigation. The law prohibits the release of the police records in this case because the suspects are juveniles. The charges are misdemeanors.
MAN HITS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENT
Police are investigating a report from children at University Hill Elementary, 956 16th St. that a man approached them, yelled at them and slapped one student in the torso on May 1. The student did not sustain any injuries as a result of the encounter.
