MAN THREATENS TO BREAK WINDOWS
Police were dispatched to the Boulder Book Store, 1107 Pearl Street on May 14 on a report of a 26-year-old man threatening to break the store's windows with his skateboard. Officers learned the man was asked to leave the store and became upset and began yelling obscenities. While on the Mall, the suspect pulled flowers out of the flower bed in front of the store. An employee followed the suspect while police were en-route to the store. The suspect continued to yell obscenities and threw rocks at the employee. The man was arrested on suspicion of harassment and destruction of public property.
MEN POUND ON DOOR WITH BATS
Officers responded to the 4500 block of 19th Street on May 14 on a report of two men pounding on the door of a residence with baseball bats. Prior to police arriving, the men left the area. Officers later located two men with baseball bats and another man who were positively identified by the victim. The incident appears to be the result of on-going harassment.Three men, ages 26, 24 and 19 were arrested on suspicion of harassment.
WOMAN INJURED ON BIKE PATH
Police responded to an accident on the 3800 block of the bike path on May 15. A cyclist tried to pass a pedestrian on the left when the pedestrian, a 61-year-old woman, turned into the path of the cyclist. The woman was transported to Boulder Community Hospital with serious injuries.
MAN FOUND FACE DOWN IN CREEK
Officers responded to a near-drowning at Scott Carpenter Park on May 16. A male transient was found floating face down in the creek. He was pulled out by a 21-year-old man who happened to be in the area. The transient, who was intoxicated, was taken to the hospital. He was intoxicated at the time of the incident.
BEER STOLEN
Officers took a report of a residential burglary in the 1100 block of 10th Street on May 17. A man in his 20s entered the residence and stole approximately 24 bottles of beer from the refrigerator.The residents were home at the time and saw the suspect leave. The residents said they witnessed the man take the beer.
