Police blotter: Wallet stolen at church


WALLET STOLEN AT CHURCH
A woman reported someone had stolen her wallet while she was taking communion at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 1316 Mapleton Ave. on June 14. <NO1>The suspect then charged over $200 at a gas station. <NO>This case is open pending further investigation.

MONEY STOLEN FROM BAGEL SHOP
Police were dispatched to Big Daddy Bagels, 4800 Baseline Road, on June 14 on a report of a robbery that had just occurred. Two men entered the business and one directed an employee into a walk-in freezer and took two lock boxes. The suspects were described as one black male and one short husky white male. This case is open pending further investigation

CAR FLIPS OVER
Police responded to a single-vehicle accident that occurred when a woman veered off the road on 30th Street on June 15. Her car drove up a tension cable attached to a utility pole and flipped over. The woman was ejected from her car and was taken to the hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

PANHANDLER ARRESTED
Police arrested a man who was panhandling at Baseline Road and 28th Street on June 16 on suspicion of criminal mischief and indecent exposure after a motorist accused him of damaging his vehicle and standing with his pants around his knees.

MAN ARRESTED FOR THEFT
Officers arrested an employee at Whole Foods, 2905 Pearl St. on June 17 in connection with allegations that he has been stealing cash from the business. He has been booked into the jail on a misdemeanor theft charge.

CHILD FOUND ON STREET
Police responded to a report of a child walking alone on a sidewalk on Harvard Street on June 18. A passerby was concerned about the child's welfare and took the 2-year-old to a nearby supermarket and called police. After some investigation, officers determined the toddler was supposed to be at a day care on Harvard Street. Officers brought the child back. The day care provider did not realize the child had walked away. Social services was notified
