Police blotter: Road rage leads to arrest


MAN ROBS LIQUOR STORE
Police responded to an aggravated robbery at the Boulder Beer Emporium, 4700 Table Mesa Drive, on June 27, at about 11:30 p.m. A man wearing white and red makeup, a red and purple wig, a denim dress and possibly a false nose held up the store with a handgun. No arrests have been made. The case remains under investigation at the time of the report.

ROAD RAGE INCIDENT LEADS TO ARREST
Police arrested a man in connection with a road rage incident that started near Highway 157 and Pearl Street and ended with an accident at 55th Street on June 27. According to witnesses, a motorcyclist began yelling at the driver of a minivan that had cut him off. The verbal dispute escalated when the motorcyclist pulled in front of the minivan and began slamming on his brakes. The driver of the minivan responded by passing the motorcyclist, opening his door and hitting the motorcyclist three times with the open door, causing the motorcyclist to wreck. The motorcyclist was transported to the hospital with head injuries. The driver of the minivan kept going. The investigation revealed that the driver of the minivan pulled into the parking lot at Western Disposal and threw a handgun out of his car before driving into Erie. The man was arrested later that night on suspicion of vehicular assault, felon in possession of a handgun and child abuse. There were children in the minivan at the time of the incident. The motorcyclist, who was treated and released from the hospital, is also facing a possible summons.

MAN ROBS STORE
Officers responded to a robbery at the Barn Store, 4600 N. Broadway, at about 9:50 p.m. on June 28. A man walked in with a bandana covering his face and sunglasses and demanded money. The man reached into his waistband as if he had a weapon there. The man took cash from the register and then ran from the store, headed south. The case remained under investigation at the time of the report.
