Economic impact of Boulder arts, cultural organizations is recognized
A celebration of the results of a national survey about the economic impact of the arts in Boulder will take place from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 11, at the Boulder Chamber of Commerce, 2440 Pearl St. Results of the survey will be released and local arts organizations that participated in the current study will be recognized. This event is hosted by the city of Boulder Arts Commission, the Boulder Convention and Visitors' Bureau and the Boulder County Arts Alliance.
Called "Arts and Economic Prosperity," the survey is conducted every five years to measure the economic impact of the arts in communities nationwide. The first report, which took place in 2002, demonstrated that during that year nonprofit arts and cultural organizations generated $19.1 million in economic activity in Boulder.
The survey was conducted by Americans for the Arts, the nation's leading nonprofit organization for advancing the arts, and was initiated in Boulder by the city of Boulder Arts Commission. For information, contact Boulder Arts Commission liaison
