CCCT Seeks Directors for 2009 Season
Contributed by: Linda Marquez on 7/2/2008

Coal Creek Community Theater of Louisville, CO will be accepting proposals for the following plays (rights pending). Only one proposal per director, please. Proposals are due by Aug. 6, 2009. Interviews will take place on Aug. 25, 2009, 7:30 - 10:00 at the Louisville Arts Center, 801 Grant Ave., Louisville, Colorado.

Email your proposal, resume and references to Coal Creek Community Theater Play Reading Coordinator, Linda Orr at andil_02170@yahoo.com.

Last Night of Ballyhoo by Alfred Uhry Feb./Mar. 2009

Winner of the 1997 Tony for Best Play. Last Night of Ballyhoo takes place in Atlanta, Georgia in Dec. of 1939. Hitler has just invaded Poland, but the Frietag family is more concerned with who will attend the social event of the season, the premier of Gone with the Wind in Atlanta.

You Can't Take it With You By Moss Hart & George S. Kaufman April/May 2009

(please note: this show may be presented at a different venue) This Hart & Kaufman has been a comedic classic for decades! The antics of the delightfully eccentric Sycamore family is sure to keep audiences rolling in the aisles with laughter.

Moon Over Buffalo by Ken Ludwig Sept./Oct 2009

A backstage farce by the author of Lend Me a Tenor. The show that brought Carol Burnett back to Broadway is a hilarious look at two aging thespians and their shenanigans to try and revive their careers.

Best Christmas Pageant Ever by Barbara Robinson Nov./Dec. 2009

In this hilarious Christmas Tale, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herman kids - probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won't believe the mayhem, and the fun, when the Hermans collide with the Christmas story head on! Many roles for children and adults.

Your proposal should consist of:

Your theater resume
Two letters of reference.
Your concept of the show, including: set requirements, how you see the characters, special lighting or sound requirements. In other words, your 'vision' of the show.
What support you would need from CCCT to bring your 'vision' to full realization.

Chosen Directors will be compensated via a profit-sharing agreement.
