Contributed by: Sarah Dent on 8/5/2008

The fifth annual Tri for the Cure was held on Sunday, August 3, 2008 at Cherry Creek State Park. More than 3,000 women and 100 breast cancer survivors raced to support Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

The sprint distance course included a 750-meter (1/2 mile) swim, 18.3K (11.4 mile) bike ride and 5K (3.1 mile) run. Tri for the Cure is a unique event, which is designed to attract women of all athletic abilities, from elite to first-time tri-athletes.

This year, the event sold out all of its 3,000 registration spots, raising more than $150,000 in pledges for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
