The biggest issues facing Boulder Valley School District now: My focus is on the school district which is comprised of seven municipalities. The ongoing issue facing the district is how to meet the needs of our varying communities while continuing to provide the best education we can for each and every student in the Boulder Valley School District. We need to close our achievement gap while still continuing to challenge our top performing students. We need to provide a "world class" education for all of our 28,000 students.
Why I am running: For the past four years I have worked with the school board to ensure that we are financially responsible, accountable and transparent in our dealings as well as focused on our primary objective of providing an excellent and equitable education for all. I believe that I bring board expertise, an education and a business background to my work on the board. I am passionate about public education and continuing the excellent work of the Boulder Valley School Board.
