We're "rescuing" who?
Contributed by: Jan Jackson on 10/5/2008

Recently, I listened to some informed and very intelligent folks rationally discussing our current (national and international) economic situation. While listening, I was struck by the similarities of greed and corruption at the federal level when compared to the greed and corruption that exists right here in my little ol' Colorado county as well as my entire state (especially in our homeowners associations).

And then to add insult to injury, a "rescue bill" was passed in Congress on October 3, 2008,which appears to continue our federal, state and local governments' socialistic, greed-ridden,corrupt assault on our social and financial lives.

During the above discussion, someone suggested that We the intelligent and rational People have always expected liberals at all levels of our government to try to get into We The People's wallets for every cent they possible can. That's socialism (some say it's communism), and that's what many, if not most, liberals, i.e., Democrats, appear to stand for.

When the discussion turned to why some Republicans planned to (and did) join with the Democrats to vote for the "rescue" bill, someone suggested that perhaps those Republicans were just "confused" about the issue. Immediately, someone else offered the suggestion that perhaps those Republicans were not "confused," they were just "nuts."

Most intelligent, rational Coloradans would, no doubt, agree with that conclusion.

Peaceful political revolution anyone?
