Golden West Aims to Improve Exercise Program
Contributed by: Kathleen Charles on 4/11/2007

Golden West is a non-profit that has been serving Boulder since 1965. We provide housing and services to older adults, aged 62 and above, regardless of income level. We provide a safe, fun place to live for many older adults who could not otherwise afford it in Boulder, an area that is severely underserved in the area of affordable housing, particularly for seniors.

We currently offer a Recreation Room, where residents can come use exercise equipment at no cost. Our exercise bicycles are old--we have had them a long time! The residents here would benefit tremendously from having newer, modern equipment. Many of them lead active lifestyles, and the ability to keep up strength and maintain health is extremely important at their ages.

Golden West would truly appreciate this grant, to be used toward the purchase of a more modern piece of exercise equipment for our wonderful elders!
